Valley of the five lakes
This hike can be an easy stroll through the montane forests around five splendid lakes surrounded by glaciated peaks and grassy meadows of wildflowers or a moderate 10 km (6.2 mi.) hike back to Jaspers', Old Fort Point. An excellent early season, May, eco- adventure.
This area is also shared with beaver, moose, elk, deer, wolves and a whole host of song birds and waterfowl. Buffalo Prairie, a grassy meadow along the trail, was described by Ross Cox in 1817 as, "a landscape that for rural beauty cannot be excelled in any country."
